This was a blast to design and put together. I used Adobe Photoshop 6 to design the marquee (which is at the top of this web page). I wanted a design that would look a little vintage, but still look a little updated. I also wanted to incorporate the MAME logo somehow. The marquee is backlit by a standard 24" florescent light fixture from Home Depot. I mounted it about 6" away from the front of the marquee.

After designing the marquee image, I took the file to Kinko's and they printed out 3 copies on a large format laser printer. I wanted 3 copies because I didn't want the light to wash out the colors. I ended up using only 2 copies on top of each other. I sandwiched them in between 2 pieces of plexiglass and spray-mounted them on with spray adhesive. The marquee is held up by marquee retainer material from Happ.
